UQ Radiology Interest Group

A space to explore the specialty & ace those med school radiology materials.

About

About Us

UQ RIG aims to increase medical student's knowledge and exposure to the field of radiology. Initially started as it took our founder until her 4th year of medical school to realise that she loves radiology - we want to help you realise your passion for medical imaging sooner!

Even if you haven't fully realised your love for radiology yet (you will), we want you to get through phase 1 unfazed and look *switched on* when you inevitably get asked to interpret images on ward rounds.

How It Works

What we do

Club Aims:

Club offers:

1) To increase knowledge of Radiology as a medical specialty - what the field involves and subspecialties available. We aim to help answer the question of what a career in radiology entails.

2) To support medical students as they navigate through medical school radiology content.

3) To provide networking, research, and clinical exposure not available in medical school.

1) Various information event with consultant and registrar doctors in the field going over what a day in their life is like, why they chose the specialty, and what they can advise students interested in the field to do as preparation.

2) A centralised "go to" spot with resources for radiology content pertaining to specific years of medical studies and targeted material for each rotation of clinical placements.

3) Networking events where students can interact with physicians and trainees + facilitation of research and volunteering opportunities to increase exposure to the field.
